Alexa Zartman-Ball

Alexa joined the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools (NCGS) as the Voluntary Research Intern for the 2019-2020 academic year, bringing with her several years of girls-focused NGO experience. Most recently serving as an intern for the Girl Up Campaign at the United Nations Foundation, Alexa was also a fellow at the Women’s Education Project in New York and a program intern for Girls Inc. of the greater Washington, D.C. area.

For NCGS, Alexa is involved in research database management, member school research requests, assisting with the Global Action Research Collaborative on Girls’ Education, as well as supporting the 2020 NCGS Conference, Stand Up, Speak Up: Girls Using Their Voices to Engage, Empower, and Enact.

A graduate of NCGS member The Madeira School in McLean, VA, Alexa understands the value of an all-girls education and is very excited to be working with NCGS to help further its research initiatives. Currently a junior at Sarah Lawrence College, Alexa is studying women’s gender studies, women’s history, and economics in pursuit of her B.A.
