Headways for Global Learning & Exchange Professionals is facilitated by Melissa Brown, NCGS Trustee and Director of Diversity, Wellbeing and Global Education at Holton-Arms School. All meetings will occur from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Headways for Global Learning & Exchange Professionals is open to those in positions including but not limited to Director of Global Learning/Programming, Director of Global Partnerships and Community Engagement, Director of Exchange Programs, Global Learning/Citizenship Coordinator, Program Director, Senior Leadership Team Member, etc.
October 14, 2021: Returning to Travel in the Era of Covid Vaccinations
Topics to consider: preparing for travel at the local, national, and global level
November 10, 2021: Preparing Families and Students for Off-Campus Travel
Topics to consider: vaccine requirements, parent/community communications (what must you inform your students and parents about with regards to travel)
January 13, 2022: Risk Mitigation
Topics to consider: protecting families, students, and schools in the face of a quickly changing landscape, health, safety, and financial risks, re-vetting partners; deposit and refund policies
February 10, 2022: Program Leader Preparations
Topics to consider: roles and responsibilities, technology needs, health and safety protocols, incident response plans, travel health issues, daily check-ins and protocols, group dynamics, training scenarios, consulting with health and behavioral professionals
April 21, 2022: Share Your Return to Travel Journey!
This session will be a culmination of what we’ve discussed throughout the year as you prepare for your off-campus programming/travel. What are your key lessons learned and what are your burning questions?
