Director of Member and Administrative Services Paige Rannigan recently visited Village School, a 5 through 8 middle school in her hometown of Charlottesville, VA. Located downtown, Village School uses the city and its resources as an extended campus. The students also connect with other girls their age beyond Charlottesville by participating in the Memory Project, a nonprofit that invites students to create and donate portraits to youth around the world who have faced substantial challenges, such as violence, disasters, extreme poverty, neglect, and loss of parents. The Village School has also established a pen pal program with NCGS member Gimnasio Femenino in Bogotá, Colombia.

At the upcoming Global Forum II, you can attend a presentation by Village School’s Head Eliza O’Connell regarding a new curriculum about race and diversity that was piloted in 2017-2018.
