Emma Willard School

Posted: Feb. 1, 2019

Troy, New York, United States

Emma Willard School seeks a Head of Strategic Communications.

In 1814 we were founded by a woman determined to map uncharted territory, to bring what was unknown to women and make it known, to find new ground, name it and claim it. Emma Hart Willard dared us to look within and see beyond. And in her spirit, we don’t feel bounded by others’ boundaries.

Our goal is to advance a vision of purposeful courage and informed action. Our work is to create a strategic design to invigorate our programs, practices, and spaces. Our success rests on one heroic goal in mind: Developing girls that will grow into the women that can shape and shake the world.

We seek a Head of Strategic Communications who will be responsible for the vision and strategic direction of the School’s communications and marketing efforts. This is a hands-on and creative role responsible for crafting, planning, and executing messaging for Emma Willard School.

This individual will play a key role in the strategic communications rollout of the new vision, strategic design, and fundraising campaign. This position reports to the Head of School and serves on the senior leadership team.  This individual works in concert with the Heads of Advancement and Enrollment Management to ensure coordinated, timely, strategic and compelling messaging.

Emma Willard School is seeking a strong, experienced and effective communicator and collaborator.  Candidates should be ambitious, strategic, creative, and imaginative thinkers who thrive in a fast-paced, close-knit community.

We seek to identify, recruit, and develop employees who bring a diversity of experiences, perspectives, talents, and backgrounds.  We offer competitive compensation and an attractive benefits package in a stimulating and dynamic academic community.
