The student life office at Emma Willard School is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Life to join their team.  This position will be responsible for enhancing the experience for our students by managing weekend activities, school celebrations, student clubs and transportation needs for weekend activities and school breaks.  S/he reports to the Director of Student Life and works closely with resident faculty members and the Administrative Assistant to Student Life.  The Assistant Director of Student Life will also be responsible for supporting the Director of Student Life to deliver a comprehensive and balanced boarding and day experience for all students.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ prior relevant experience. The candidate must have strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with an ability to draw faculty and students to creative ideas. S/he should have patience, passion for hard work, an active sense of community, and a sense of humor.  The candidate should also have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of details and logistics. S/he will need to have the ability to work weekends throughout the academic year. The candidate should have an appreciation for independent school education for girls.

Director of Alumnae Relations and Campus Events

We seek a Director of Alumnae Relations and Campus Events who is responsible for leading Alumnae Relations programs to complement and support the mission of the School. As a key member in the School advancement effort, s/he is responsible for the overall administration of the Alumnae Relations Office, including strategic planning, fiscal management, and program development; and is accountable for the planning and implementation of programs and projects that engage our 8,000+ alumnae and provide tangible benefits to alumnae.  This is a hands-on and creative role, based at our campus in Troy, NY and reports to the Head of Advancement.

Using data and analysis from a recent Alumnae Survey, and serving as an ambassador for the School, the Director is charged with creating and maintaining  pathways for alumnae participation that advance the goals of the School; working closely with alumnae who are interested in providing professional expertise and volunteer service to their alma mater; collaborating with colleagues in the administrative; facilitating a robust and meaningful Alumnae Reunion Weekend program; partnering with Advancement colleagues to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward alumnae giving; and serving as a liaison between the Alumnae Association Council and the administrative leadership. The Director will also lead and coordinate other campus events, including Commencement, Family Weekend, Revels Receptions, Spring Showcase, and other related programs.
