Online Resources and Information
- Cynthia Lanius is a fabulous resource, full of tips for getting girls involved in technology and links to a great collection of sites, from her days at Rice University (she is now with Drexel's Math Forum web site). She ran a GirlTECH club there (a professional development program for teachers). She provides a powerpoint presentation on Educating Girls in the Computer Age, among many others.
- UMBC's Center for Women in Information and Technology is an astounding collection of information of all sorts on this issue.
- National Center for Women in Information Technology has been aimed at people looking at careers in IT and has recently started a K-12 Alliance to address the problem of gender equity in schools.
- In 2006, Sec. Margaret Spellings spoke at the first National Summit on the Advancement of Girls in Math and Science.
- The Association for Women in Mathematics has recently started a Teacher Partnership Program to pair classroom teachers with university or industrial professional mathematicians. Among other useful things, this can provide great guest speakers for your classroom.

Ellen Spertus from Mills College has a page of resources about women and computer science. Her paper, Why Are There So Few Female Computer Scientists? is available online.
- NCWIT has many, many resources! Browse for a long list of topics or search for specifics. Resources include assessments, curriculum, educational games, and more.
In-Person Professional Development
- The Teachers Circle supports middle school math teachers wishing to use a problem-solving approach in their classroom.
- TECS and JETT are CSTA-supported workshops run by universities to prepare high school computer science teachers. Equity is a required section of any JETT or TECS workshop.
