Forest Ridge School's "Think Global" Citizenship Program
Think Global
is a Forest Ridge program that envisions its students becoming
responsible citizens and compassionate leaders in our global society.
The global program builds on existing programs; uses technology for
developing new relationships, for joint-learning projects, and for
communication across cultures; and increases opportunities for living
experiences in another culture.
The program, based on the criteria of
Sacred Heart education, embraces cross-cultural experiences in
Australia, Asia, Central and South America, Africa, and Europe in
collaboration with sister Sacred Heart schools and ministries.
The program strives to make Forest Ridge students at ease in a
global environment by creating opportunities for them to work with
technological tools, experience cultures that are both face-to-face and
faceless, and practice skills to resolve problems and issues of
misunderstanding. Forest Ridge is a member of the Sacred Heart, which
is fostering conversation among its schools on the subject of global
education.
