Head of Oprah School Now Leads Atlanta Girl's School

When noted Quaker educator Joan Countryman retired a few years back from the prestigious Lincoln School in Providence, R.I., she made a number of promises to herself about how she would spend her time. Serving as an interim head of school didn't make the list.
Fast-forward
to last June. Her stint with Winfrey's academy up, the 67-year-old got
another unexpected call. This time it was Atlanta Girl's School on the
line, asking her to run things until it hired a permanent leader.
