Harpeth Hall Coach To Enter Hall of Fame

Susan Russ Is Winningest High School Coach In Tennessee

Nashville, TN -- Legendary Harpeth Hall Coach Susan Russ will be inducted in the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) Hall of Fame this spring. Coach Russ joins nines other as part of the 2008 inductees.

 

Coach Susan Russ is winningest high school coach in Tennessee and the driving force behind Harpeth Hall's 20-plus state championships in cross country and track and field. In May, Coach Russ retired after 29 years at Harpeth Hall.

 

"I am very honored to have been selected to the TSSAA Hall of Fame and I share this honor with all of my teams and assistant coaches because anything I have accomplished as a coach has been a team effort through everyone's hard work, dedication, and competitive spirit," said Coach Russ. "The Harpeth Hall School has offered a wonderful environment for the achievement of athletic success for all of its student athletes and I am proud to have been a part of this great legacy."

 

Joining Coach Russ into the TSSAA Hall of Fame are Joe Hardin, administrator from Pulaski; the late Dan Herron, administrator from Gallatin; Randy Barnes, coach from Union City; Bob Black, coach from Knoxville; Jerry Peters, coach from Memphis; Richard Pickell, coach from Lenoir City; Jerry White, coach from Elizabethton; Joe Casey, official from Nashville; and Paul Holly, official from Memphis.
