Coastal Studies for Girls (CSG): Student Applications Ready for Spring 2010!
08/20/2009
Coastal Studies for Girls features a marine science and leadership curriculum, while also offering classes in the core subjects of English, math, history and foreign language. Students immerse themselves in a challenging and rewarding experience, interacting with scientists, resident scholars and guest lecturers in a beautiful coastal landscape that serves as a natural laboratory. The program nurtures students' intellectual curiosity and promotes their aspirations in the sciences, while helping them to grow in confidence, leadership and self-determination. Coastal Studies for Girls seeks girls who have a love for learning and discovery, an adventurous spirit, a desire for excellence, and a will to challenge themselves beyond the traditional school experience.
Students apply credit earned toward the graduation requirements of their sending school. Applications for the Spring 2010 semester are due on November 1, 2009. A rolling admissions policy means that girls may apply any time between now and then. Girls who are in 10th grade this year are encouraged to apply and applications may be downloaded: http://www.coastalstudiesforgirls.org/Student_Application.htm
