Game Face In the Classroom

Instructional Kit Helps Teachers Address the "Unwritten Curriculum"

Girls' schools have long placed a premium on character education -- educating the whole girl, helping her tap into her talents and put her beliefs into action. Now our teachers have a new tool at their disposal, the Game Face classroom kit.

The National Coalition of Girls' Schools served as educational partner in development of the materials, produced by Game Face Productions with the support of MassMutual Financial Group/Oppenheimer Funds, Inc. Each kit contains:

• A teachers' manual
  
• Large-format cards with discussion points
  
• Smaller cards for students' use
  
• Posters for classroom display and take-home

The materials include discussion questions, writing activities and opportunities for research, with tie-ins to language arts, writing, history, health, family life and related topics. Taken as a whole, the Game Face Classroom Kit provides educators an easy-to-use, out-of-the-box tool to engage students in learning about leadership, personal development, respect, responsibility and teamwork -- lessons central to the mission of girls' schools.
