National Conference on Single-Sex Public Schools

The National Conference on Single-Sex Public Schools (NCSSPS) will highlight the impact single-sex (SS) public schools are having in preparing students for high school and college and will encourage more school districts to establish SS public schools.  The conference will enable teams of principals and teachers from SS schools across the nation to come together to share best practices, discuss challenges and plan for the future of the SS public education movement.  This conference is our first step in building a national network for SS public schools.  The Young Women's Leadership Foundation, The Eagle Academy for Young Men, The Foundation for the Education of Young Women, Girls Prep Charter School, Carnegie Corporation, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation are committed to supporting this exciting project.

The event will target two important audiences: practitioners currently working in SS schools and urban school district leaders.  Conference participants from across the country will learn from leading researchers in the field, share promising practices and begin to develop standards for SS public schools in the United States
