Oldfields School: History/Social Sciences Teacher (Posted: 02.28.18)

Oldfields School, an all-girls international boarding and day school, grades 8-12, is seeking a full-time, experienced History/Social Sciences teacher to begin in August 2018. The School is committed to teaching a population of diverse learners including English language learners. Therefore, the position requires a versatile teacher with experience and education in teaching World and American History and other Social Sciences from the introductory level to AP and advanced levels. The ideal candidate will be energetic and engaging, with a willingness to inspire and support all kinds of learners. Related academic duties may include assisting with Model UN.

Duties will include:
- Teaching five History classes
- Coaching or other extracurricular activity.
- Advising two-four students.
- Faculty who receive free residential housing and board are required to do periodic dorm supervision, and weekend duty, and other duties pertinent to boarding school needs.
- Faculty who live off campus are required to do monthly weekend duty.

Minimum requirements:
- B.A. or M.A. in History or other closely related field.
- Experience teaching AP or Honors History/ Social Science courses
- An interest in participating in the athletic, extracurricular and residential life of the school.
