Laurel School: Middle School English Teacher Long Term Substitute (Posted: November 17, 2017)

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual, one who cares deeply about the importance of reading and writing, who is curious about new methods and modes of communication, and who is interested in exploring the ways in which we can teach girls to be courageous, ethical and empathetic through literature. The candidate must be able to use a variety of assessment strategies, and incorporate our Facing History and Ourselves program into course planning. We seek teachers interested in working collaboratively with other Laurel teachers, enthusiastic about the opportunity to design curriculum—including lessons that take advantage of our 140-acre Butler campus as an outdoor classroom—and adept at differentiating instruction. Candidates with Middle and Upper School teaching experience are encouraged to apply. Flexibility, a sense of humor and a deep desire to be an educator outside of the classroom—working with students in many capacities—are invaluable qualities at Laurel School.
